What to expect for your first appointment
The aim of the first visit is to get to know you, learn more about your presenting problem, and how your condition affects your functionality and well-being. Expect an in-depth medical interview and a physical assessment, followed by feedback and discussion of treatment options. We aim to provide as much information and education as possible on your condition and the different management options. Your understanding of your state of health plays an important part in optimal recovery and will empower you to adapt your behaviour to best facilitate recovery. We place a high tag on patient collaboration and shared decision making, and aim to help our patients with short-term and long-term goal setting realistic to the expected rate of recovery.
Aches, pains and injuries
The source of your pain needs to be thoroughly assessed. This can include muscle overuse, biomechanical imbalances, postural and skeletal abnormalities, sports injuries, and high stress levels to name a few. We work to eliminate the cause while treating the symptoms, using several manual techniques, electrotherapy, exercise therapy and strapping.
